As a transpersonal
Clinical Psychologist, I
weave together many approaches, drawing on Gestalt Therapy,
Dreamwork, Visionary Journeys (including Past-Life Therapy
and LIfe-Between-Lives Spiritual Regression), Hypnosis, Relationship
Therapy and Counseling, Self-Help Skills Training and Somatic
Experiencing.
Gestalt
Therapy
Gestalt Therapy is
a creative and experiential approach. As a certified Gestalt
Therapist, I use special awareness-enhancing techniques, and
creative dramatization. I can help you connect with your true
inner self, heal yourself deeply, express yourself effectively,
and access your inner strengths.

Dreamwork
Gestalt Therapy includes
specific methods for working with dreams. These methods enable
the dreamer to feel the energy and emotions contained within
a dream, and discover its meaning through direct experience.

At times I
include other techniques, such as drawing dream images, or
Dream Reentry. In Dream Reentry, you can relax and re-enter
the dream to continue the story. In the process, you can learn
more, and exercise your courage and creativity. Dream Reentry
is a form of Visionary Journey (see below).
Visionary
Journeys
This is
the use of guided imagery to embark on an inner voyage of
healing, discovery and spiritual attunement. For example,
I would guide you to see a beautiful scene and feel yourself
in that scene. Next, I would guide you to "walk"
from this scene through a door or across a bridge to another
place, perhaps a previous lifetime.
These journeys
take many forms. Past
Life Regression and Past-Life Therapy are Visionary
Journeys into a former life. Life
Between Lives regression is a journey beyond physical
life into the greater existence of the soul.
Regression within the
present lifetime can allow you to revisit your childhood or
a specific event in order to deepen your self-understanding
and facilitate soul healing. You can gradually heal the child
within, express yourself to another person who is not physically
present, or find and begin to transform the inner core of
addictive behavior. Many other fascinating and beneficial
experiences are possible.

Hypnosis
Hypnosis is
focused attention.These focused states are part of everyday
life. When you're absorbed in an activity or a movie, you're
in a light trance.
Many methods can be used to
enter a hypnotic state. You continue to be aware and free
to choose your words and actions. Visionary Journeys (see
above) are a form of hypnosis.
Relationship
Therapy
and
Counseling
If you
want to improve a relationship, I can guide and support you
in enhancing your communication and understanding to build
intimacy, cooperation and trust. I am trained in several approaches,
and I am certified in Imago Relationship Therapy.
In my practice, I
use whatever methods are most appropriate to the situation
and the couple -- or individual. I can help with many kinds
of relationship -- including relationships with friends, family
members and co-workers.
Self-Help
Skills Training
When appropriate, I
teach a variety of methods to promote a positive, constructive
outlook; serenity; effective coping; and problem-solving.
These methods are flexible and adaptable, allowing creative
variations. They include techniques for:
relaxing
and grounding (stabilizing) yourself;
recognizing
and appreciating the positives in yourself and your situation;
putting
difficulties and disappointments into a more positive and
realistic perspective;
calming
intense emotion, when you want to feel more relaxed and in
control;
giving
yourself encouragement and support;
using
your imagination and intuition to create experiences of safety,
love, healing and support from beyond yourself (from others,
nature, and spiritual realms).
When you feel
comfortably calm and realistically optimistic, life is better
and problem-solving is easier. You can consider possible actions
and their probable outcomes, and choose accordingly. You are
better prepared to handle life's challenges as you approach
even greater success.
Somatic
Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing is designed to heal many effects of traumatic
experience, whether the traumatic event was primarily emotional
or physical.
Before healing, stress deep in the nervous system can maintain
problematic patterns of thinking, feeling, and reacting. Chronic
tensions may be held in the body which interfere with our
health and physical comfort as well as our peace of mind.
As a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I can help
you regain a sense of safety and greater comfort, as the trauma
is gradually relieved through sensory awareness, spontaneous
and intentional movement, and imagery.
